The 40th-CTU Annual General Body meeting was held on Sunday October-07-2012, 10:00 am at Brahmana Samooham Madom Hall ,Cherthala. Mr. Chandu (CTU -guest) recited the prayer dedicated to Lord Venkataswara. Mr. K. Haridas (Jt. Sec.-CTU) welcomed the distinguished guests and all the participants . Hon. Aroor MLA Adv. A.M. Arif inaugurated the meet.CTU President Mr Santosh Kumar chaired the meeting. Mr. KV Bhaskaran (State President KSS) delivered the keynote speech. Mr. P.S. RAMACHANDRAN (Gen. Sec. KSS) ,Mr. Rajappan (State Treasurer ,KSS), Mr. G. Sivan (State Sec. KSS),Mr.PG Kannapan (Board member),Ms. Tankamma (KMSS-CTU Sec.),Mr. Ramesh (Board member KSS) felicitated the meeting .Mr. R. Santhosh (Sec. CTU) presented the Annual Report , Income-Expenditure statement and Audit report for the year 2011-2012. After the discussion and comments from the participants, the report was unanimously passed by the meeting.
Mr. Santosh Kumar (CTU President) congratulated all the members on the occasion of 50 glorious years of completion of KSS. He also emphasized that our unfulfilled demand for inclusion of kudumbi community in SC/ST also has a life of 50 years , has to be achieved . He also mentioned about the need for 1% reservation of Govt. Services, the demand made by KSS for the last 2 years.
MLA Adv. A.M. Arif stressed the importance of Educational reservations in bringing the social change in kudumbi community. He also wished that our students must now aspire for IAS / IPS. Only then the social justice to the backward communities like the kudumbis , as guaranteed in the India constitution can be fulfilled.
All the KSS branches and SKSHG (Sri Kurumba) units under CTU participated in the meet. Mr. Balan (Treasurer, CTU) finally delivered the thanking address.
The CTU Cash Award function was inaugurated by Hon. Cherthala MLA Mr. P. Tilottaman at 2:00 pm. He also gave the consolation prizes to the students who passed the Kerala Eng/ Medical -2012 entrance. Mrs. Jayalakshmi Anil Kumar (Chairman, Cherthala Municipal Council) distributed the Karthyayani Bai, SundariBai, Narayanamoppan Endowment Awards for SSLC and Plus two Toppers. She also congratulated the meritorious students and stressed the need to provide better education. Nealy 40 meritorious students were given the cash awards including SSCL, 10+2,Degree/PG and Kerala Eng/ Medical Entrance.
In the remembrance of our late KSS President and General Secretary , founder leader of CTU , Sir T.C. Krishnan a brief note was delivered by Mr. Radhakrishnan (Board Member,KSS). Mr. Padmanabhan Master (State Sec. KSS) also spoke about Sir TC Krishnan. Mr. P.R. Murali (Sr. Vice President, KSS) honored Smt. Sharada Krishnan (W/O Late TC Krishnan ). It was an nostalgic occasion about Sir TC Krishnan shared by the students and present generation.
Mr. T.G. Raju (Vice President. KSS) honored the KSS members who where arrested on during the historic train picketing strike held on may-30-2012 at Ernakulam.
Mr. Naveen Kumar finallly thanked all the distinguished guests , KSS Branches, SKSHG , Students and others in making this meet a success.
